Quilts

Image
I thought since quilting is part of my blog title, I would share a couple quilts that I have made. This is the last quilt I finished. I absolutely loved this pattern and the colors. I loved it as soon as I saw it, and I knew I needed it. The pattern is Fresh by Camille Rosekelly. The fabric is Lavishmint by Camelot fabrics. This was also my first time attempting a pieced back and I am thrilled with how it turned out. This was the very first quilt I finished. (I have a few that I pieced the tops, but never did anything else.) My husband saw it at the quilt store (yes, I made him come to the quilt store with me, he wasn't happy about it, but he did it) and he commented that he liked it, so I got it as a surprise. This was a kit at my local quilt store. This was the second quilt I made. Also for my husband. While the quilt above was the first quilt I completed by myself, this one was far more difficult, so I consider it my real first quilt, because it was so much more...

Zion National Park

This past weekend we visited the beautiful Zion National Park. We stayed at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort, which is just outside the East entrance of Zion. Not only is it about a 10 minute drive from the park, there are TONS of activities just at the resort. We spent most of our trip 4 wheeling around the resort. It was beautiful and relaxing. There is always debate on if we should actually go into the park. My husband and dad are not fans of the crowds (honestly, I'm not a huge fan either). I love the hikes in the park, and there are tons that we could let our little one do, if she is feeling up to it. If not, we carry her in a back pack carrier. She slept through most of the hikes this trip. Anyway, here are some of the pictures from our trip. There were multiple times we saw deer right outside the house we were staying in.  Checker Board Mesa at Sunset from the overlook in Zion Ponderosa  The view from Weeping Rock Another view from Weeping Rock T...

Welcome!

Welcome to Running Quilting Momma! I am the mother of one sweet little girl, and wife to an amazing husband. I love to run, and I love to quilt. At the beginning of this year, I saw a quote about doing less, better. And I decided to make that my motto. I want to focus on the aspects of my life, and my areas of interest and do those better. I don't need to do more with my life. So here I am, doing less, better. I want to focus on improving my running and my quilting. (I am also going back to school, but that is another story for another day). I used to run pretty regularly. I was running 5ks, training for a 10k and possibly a half marathon. But, life got in the way, and I never really got back into my groove. After my daughter was born, I started running again, but again, life happens, and I stopped. This is going to help me chronicle my story and try to motivate myself to get back into running, because I really do enjoy running. I started quilting about 3 years ago. I love qu...
